Lakelight.refract
Kinda chic to leave your worries on land.
We bring the drone and the cameras — and you go home with a reel your feed isn't ready for.
The group flyover is the one shot a phone can never get.
Everybody's lake photos look the same. Yours won't.
Phone footage of a lake day is shaky, backlit, and shot from the one angle a boat allows. That’s the gap we’d like to fill. The idea: you pick a time and a spot on Beaver Lake, take your boat out like you normally would, and we shoot you from the air with a drone and up close from the water. A few days later you get the whole day cut into a reel or slideshow that's ready to post — music, pacing, the flyover where your boat carves a white line across Beaver Lake.
How it would work: you’d choose a date, a light window, and a meet-up spot on the lake. Golden hour would go first, for good reason.
We shoot the drone from shore or a chase boat while you do your normal lake day — cruising, tubing, rafting up. No posing required.
Within a few days you get an edited vertical reel or slideshow sized for Instagram and TikTok, plus the full photo set to keep.
Three ways to shoot it.
Drone flyovers and on-board shots of your crew, cut into a 30–60 second reel with music — ready to post the moment it lands in your inbox.

Not offered yetThrowing a tie-up? We cover the whole raft-up — the group drone shot, every boat, everybody — and cut highlights the whole party can share.

A mood board, not a portfolio.
We haven’t shot for anyone, so we have no work to show. Every frame below is licensed stock photography, standing in to describe the kind of image we’d like to make. None of it is ours, none of it was taken on Beaver Lake, and nobody in it is a client. If we ever do this for real, guests will approve their own reel before it appears here.

Kinda chic to let loose.
Someday, a raft-up. Not this weekend.
A raft-up is the one lake shot a phone can never get — you need altitude. Tell us where the boats are meeting and we'll get the group flyover, work the line boat to boat, and send highlights everyone in the party can post.
The people behind the cameras.
Lakelight.refract is family-run, like everything Refract does. If it ever runs, Ashley would handle the scheduling and our design partners would work the cameras — one on the water, one on the drone, once whoever flies it holds the certification commercial drone work requires. Nobody has shot a Lakelight job, because there haven’t been any.

She also teaches skiing →Half of the camera team — the chase boat and the docks, the close-ups, the splash shots, the candids your crew didn't know were happening. One of our independent design partners.
The other half — the flyovers, the top-down raft-up shot, the white wake line across Beaver Lake. Also an independent design partner, and not yet certified for commercial drone work.

Never been up on two skis — or getting the kids up for the first time? Ashley teaches easy, patient lessons on calm water. Tell us who’s learning and when works, and she’ll get back to you about times and what to bring.
If this ever runs, want to hear?
Not a booking form — we can’t take one. Tell us what you’d want and we’ll get in touch if Lakelight becomes real.
Tell us when you're going out and where to find you. We'll confirm the slot, the spot, and the price by email — usually within a few hours, family-run style.
Light matters more than anything else on the water. If your date is flexible, say so in the notes and we'll steer you to the best window.
